Alan Harris' spoken-word is informed by his years performing stand-up, sketch and improvisational comedy on stages in New York City and Los Angeles (which is also a city). There really isn't much else to say, although he is wondering - since he used considerably less words than he was alotted for the bio - if he could get a refund . . .
Shadab Zeest Hashmi grew up in Peshawar, Pakistan. She moved to the United States to attend Reed College, where she earned her BA. Her books of poetry also meditate on the often-fraught political and cultural exchanges between the United States, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. She is the author of the poetry collections Baker of Tarifa, and Kohl & Chalk, both San Diego Book Award winners. She has also published essays on Muslim American issues and has edited the San Diego Magee Park Poets Anthology and MahMag World Literature, as well as being a columnist for 3 Quarks Daily.
