Tangents Radio presents Stellamara Acoustic Roots Trio  featuring vocalist and percussionist Sonja Drakulich, multi-instrumentalist Gari Hegedus and cellist Rufus Cappadocia. Their music integrates Persian, Arabic, Indian, Turkish, Balkan and various European traditions. The members have studied, recorded and performed with Ross Daly, the originator of Contemporary Modal Music. In fact Ross and his partner Kelly Thoma recorded on Stellamara’s album The GoldenTread. Gari plays at least as many instruments as the languages Sonja sings - 16 at latest count. This does not include Sonja’s own language which is based in the feeling, vowels and consonants that are shaped naturally by the melody.This is a rare opportunity to see Sonja and Gari augmented by the cross-pollinating cellist Rufus Cappadocia. This is a concert not to be missed.
