About the Event

"Rising From The Fall" is a documentary interview film about Vietnamese Americans creating dialogue between old and new generation to understand the struggles that both are facing. The interview will be about the journey of coming to America or growing up in America and sharing stories of the Vietnam war.

Tam and Ngoc said, "Many of us are pioneers for our families and our culture. We will not be erased as long as we keep our stories with us. Our hope is that you will discuss and share your unique story with your family and friends. Through questions, dialogue, and understanding we will keep our community strong.

Thank you to the ancestors who fought and sacrificed for our generation to have this chance at life.

Xỉn cám ơn các bậc tiền nhân, những người đã chiến đấu và đã hy sinh cho hậu duệ chúng tôi có cơ hội đời này."

Biographies:

Ngọc Lê (director/producer) is filmmaker and actress from the Bay Area based in LA. Being a 1.5 generation or “half” generation, she thrives to reflect this perspective in storytelling. Belonging to both generations, it’s sometimes a challenge to identify her own identity and where she belongs. Therefore, Ngọc is able to bring empathy to each perspective. “Know history, know self” are words she lives by and reflects in each project.

Tâm Ngô (associate producer) is a San Francisco local. She was born and raised in San Jose, the largest Vietnamese population outside the country of Vietnam. She is a serial entrepreneur and philanthropist with a passion for helping and empowering people to serve the greater community. With the film, "Rising From the Fall", she hopes to continue inspiring and helping her community be better connected with their family, history, and identity.
