Rising star assistant professor Em Wong faces her mid-life crisis head on by playing a high-stakes VR therapy game after being denied tenure. To win, Em must free herself of nine chakra cords that hold embedded memories of the past. Along the way, her ancestors complicate the game, as benevolent guides and as mischievous ghosts. When Em realizes how she plays the game alters the rules, she begins to question who is making the rules. As she progresses through each level, Em must decide if she’s ready to step into her true calling or stay stuck in her virtual reality.
