Omkara is a spontaneous improvisational musical collective that began in July 2024 after playing a concert together at Grace Cathedral. They collaborated with San Francisco's Illuminate The Arts, who designed a spectacular laser light show, highlighting the sacred geometries of sound, silence, and light in beauty, as the music and lights combined.
Our influences range from the North sea and Scottish wildlands to Turkey, Greece, and the Middle East, Jazz, music of the African diaspora, and live theater accompaniment. Musical. Elemental. Explorative.
