Kintsukuroi follows members of the Ito family from their pre-war life in San Francisco's Japantown to the concentration camps of the American West to the battlefields of Europe as they struggle to pick up the pieces of their shattered lives.

About the Event
Like every immigrant family, the Itos came to the United States to build a better life. After years of struggle and sacrifice, the dream that was America seemed within their grasp. a stroke of his pen, President Roosevelt issued Executive Order 9066 and effectively destroyed the lives of 120,000 Japanese Americans at the onset of WWII.
Kerwin Berk is a Sansei filmmaker born and raised in San Francisco’s Japantown.
He is an award-winning journalist who worked at newspapers and wire services ifor more than 25 years. His last stop was at his hometown newspaper - the San Francisco Chronicle.
Today, he is an independent filmmaker and founder of Ikeibi Films, which is dedicated to the idea that Asian Americans need to tell their own stories in their own voice using our own talent both in front of and behind the camera.
