About the Event

Open mic before and after the featured poets. Sign up at 1 pm.

Scott Bird was born in the western Colorado town of Paradox. He is a poet, painter and musician and a co-founder of the Coit Tower Poets. Scott lives in San Francisco where he makes his living as a gardener.

Nina Serrano is an active 88 year old prize winning poet and media producer in Vallejo, California. She has published three volumes of poetry: Heart Songs, Heart's Journey, and Heart Strong and is currently working on another, “Out of the Blue” to be available later this year. She also published a novel “Nicaragua Way” Her plays have been produced in the United States and Canada.

Currently she produces regular monthly radio programs on literature and Latinx affairs on KPFA (94.1fm) and OZCAT radio ( 89.5fm). She has directed the San Francisco Poetry in the Schools program and the Stagebridge Storytelling in the Schools program. She also was a member of the Oakland Arts Commission for 8 years.
